This course consists of 1600 clock hours of technical instruction and practical operations covering all practices constituting the art of cosmetology. Technical instructions mean instructions given by demonstrations, lecture, classroom participation, or examination. Practical operation shall mean actual performance by the student of a complete service on another person or mannequin. Credit is given only if applied effort is maintained.
The first 450 hours are devoted to the Basics and Fundamental of Hair Styling, Facials & Nails. The next 240 hours you will continue the Intermediate Training in Hair Design, Women’s & Men’s Sculpting, Texture, Long Hair Design, Hair Color and Salon Success. Afterward the next 210 hours is Advanced Techniques in Hair Design, Women’s & Men’s Sculpting, Texture Long Hair Design, Hair Color and Salon Success. After that 500 – 800 hours will be committed to the Student Salon using skills from prior classes. Finally the remaining hours is dedicated to Board Classes & Mock State Board training.
Cosmetologist Student’s Kit List
Students are required to have all the following items available or they cannot start class. Prior to beginning class they would be asked to submit & a checklist to confirm they have all necessary kit items and books.
