If you failed either your written or practical all you have to do is to make an appointment with the State Board instructor and they will schedule you for the next State Board Preparation classes.

When you graduate and obtain your license to practice, you may choose not to do skin and nails and only hair if you prefer, but your Cosmetologist license with the State of California includes all hair, skin and nails.
